As a rule, normal side entrance doors – standardized according to DIN 107 – for adjoining rooms within an apartment are used for this purpose, which are fastened with 2 K (fire protection assembly foam component). Door assembly done right.

RS2 -RS3 doors / DIN 4102 smoke control doors:

A smoke control door is a door element with a self-closing door leaf and smoke-tight lip seals. The aim is to prevent the spread of life-threatening smoke gases in buildings in the event of fire. A distinction must be made between fire protection closures in accordance with DIN 4102 Part 2 on the one hand and so-called tightly closing doors on the other. Smoke protection doors are to be distinguished from tightly closing doors.

Smoke protection doors as well as burglar-resistant apartment doors are basically installed properly in the door reveal with concrete anchors/screwing when the frame is installed. Subsequently, the frame is placed against the frame. There are different guidelines depending on the product. Either it is foamed with 2 components or in case of metal doors e.g. tamped or mortared depending on the requirements on site.
